Is the glide pro front really that smooth, or is the Buell mount the way to go.
Thanks,
SR

I have glide pro and at first it was buzzy but over time has smoothed out and is as smooth as the orignial now. Jake the owner told me that was normal and they needed to break in.

I know some have had issues with the buell mount not lasting.  I plan on going for the Glide Pro myself.  Although you might find really good prices on the buell mount now that they're defunct.

I'm glad to see someone started this thread. Some months ago I was servicing my bike in preperation for a 4 day trip and noticed the front lower mount was shot so I bought a Drag Specialties mount from my local indy cause I needed it right away. Well after install the motor was no londer shaking all over the place as it was before but when first letting out on the clutch, DAMN!! the handle bars shook very uncomfortably, after the bike was moving she smoothed out a bit and since then it appears to have softened up a bit but I'm not happy at all and was considering going with a Glide-Pro cause I only paid $20. for the Drag mount and the Glide-Pro couldn't possibly be any worse, could it?

So....any opinions out there?

BTW Happy Thansgiving.

Im running the V Thunder motor mount sold by Drag Specialties.  About 85.00, I think Comp Cams makes it.  Waiting for it to smooth out. Only couple hundred miles so far. If it dont smooth out I will try the Glide Pro.

I bought a Glide-Pro and am happy with it.

Vibration smoothed out right away (200 miles) and I'm sure it will only get better.

If you can deal with the v-i-b-r-a-t-i-o-n for a few thousand miles, they are OK, but I use the OEM mounts only because it takes fewer miles for it to break-in (soften up).

I put the OEM on my 95 RK and it smoothed out after about 400 miles, just wondering if the Glide Pro might be smooth from the get go and maybe last longer.
Thanks for the help,
SR

If you replace the front , isnt a good idea to replace the rear's also?
Not that big of a deal.

The glide Pro was smooth from the get go for me, awesome mount and well worth the 89 bucks for it, I also tryed a drag mount for $20, you get what ya pay for, Dannnnnnng, that thing felt like someone was hitting it with a slegehammer when you gear down a little, I still have it if someone wants it, a friend has a 07 Streetglide and his bike shuck pretty bad from the factory, put a glide pro on and he said it was like a different bike, so campers don't be fooled by the $20 dollor mounts or the oem wantabe's, just call Jake and get rid of the shake.  :hyst:

my original lasted 70,000 and is still in good shape I changed to the glide pro just because I thought it was time to change.  I put a fair amont of miles on so it did not take long to break the glide pro in but it was buzzy at first just like jake said it would be.

Bought the Glide-Pro front motor mount for my '03 FLHTI over last winter.

Buzzed a little for a couple hundred miles then quieted right down. Smooth as silk right now.

Just MY experience...........

This has been our experience as well, however the "buzzed at little" to you have been "OMG it wants to vibrate my teeth out" to others, and it's been a struggle to convince those riders that it will smooth out after a few hundred/thousand miles.
That said, there have been a few folks who seem happy with it, even from the 1st mile with it......go figger!!!
