Thats easy, would have to be the Famous Harley B lifter,

What is a Harley B lifter and how does it differ from a stock lifter?

Jim

Pushrod

it is a stock lifter,  b is just a prefix for  updated design,   all the guys around here swear by them,

I have the B lifters but I'm getting a little valvtrain noise nothing real bad. Just wondering if the S&S limiters will help quiet it down a little, the noise starts around 1500 rpm.

When I did my build with Andrews 37G's with RP lifters and stock push rods, it sounded like a box of marbles.  I was told it was the cam and I lived with it for years.  This spring I went in to change the oil pump so I decided to use SE adjustable push rods and also changed the lifters to the stock 99B's.  Totally different engine.  Quiter than what I remember the stock engine was.  I adjusted the push rods 4 turns as well.  So I cant say if it was the lifters or the adjustment.  I just know that with the setup I have now, I am happy.

4 turns on SE pushrods? doesnt that make the pre-load over .150" ?

If you don't spin your motor past 6k, Harley B's-If you got big power on the street and play in the high rpm's, go with Hydrosolids or S&S w/ limiters.

Also heard a rumor that a stock Chevy Lifter is the exact same lifter as the "B" for about $11.00 each.  This has yet to "B" confirmed.   Could it really "B"?

I will "B" patiently waiting.

Don't all 96 motors (A&B) 07-10 now come with the B lifter as stock?

Oh No!

WideBoy04

second the Black OPs. The quieter of the 2 sets of B's, or S&S w/limiters that I tried.

I use Crane #10530 lifters for a SBC.  Before using them,  I called Crane and was told that the lifter they market for a HD and SBC is the exact same one with two different part numbers.  The only difference is the inflated price for the HD numbered one.
