A guy I know that ports heads, mainly V-8 race engines, but has done some TC heads, with much success, usually sticks with a 1.940" intake valve. He's currently doing a pair for me, and is doing them a bit different than ones in the past, and wants to go with a 2.0" intake. He knows my eingine is a 113", will use flat top pistons, (some chamber work) and the cams I'm going to use. Conventional wisdom seems that I may lose a bit down low and make up for it up top, which is what I have now, and want more power down low. This guy has done port design for Richard Childress Racing, really does not want to get into motorcycle heads, but is doing me a favor. Do I question the use of a 2.0" valve? My first reaction is to STFU.

I've done 113's w/2" valve & it worked out good. If you want to keep the power down low it's all in the cam you pick.

One thing that I'd watch out for is your valve to valve clearance..  It may limit your cam choices. Max

Thanks Larry & Bruce.
Plan on using R&R .615 - 47° close. 10.5 -10.7 static CR. OK choice? Comments?

Reggie is a very good guy, I suggest presenting him flow sheets and asking him. This cam has exhaust bias +10° and higher intake lift as you know which may or may not play well with the heads.

Thanks Don.

WFOLarry, going to groove these heads. Got a cam suggestion?

Let me know when the heads are done [flow, chamber cc's etc.] & I'll tell you what i think. I have had good luck with the S&S 585 & the R&R 615 is modeled on that.

Chambers will be 89cc
When the heads are done I'll ask for flow #'s
Thanks Larry.
