Recently rented a warehouse which has no electricity. However when I close and lock the warehouse my 02 FLSTFI battery runs down after several days and is hard starting.
I always charge the bikes battery (Xtreme charger) on it and after 30 or so minutes it reaches 100% charge according to the charger.
What I'd like to do is purchase a portable jump battery charger and connect it to my battery (over night or longer) so that the battery doesn't discharge after several days of not going to the warehouse. I don't want to jump start the bike just keep a steady charge on the bikes battery with the battery jump charger. The battery is two years old (AGM) Deka brand and should still be good.
Does anyone know if what I'd like to do will work in mainlining my bikes battery charged as I can't utilize a trickle charge as I don't have any electricity when I lock up the warehouse.
Any and all suggestions is appreciated.

The battery shouldn't discharge that much after just a couple of days.
How old is the battery?

One suggestion (but it would be kind of a PITA) would be to take out the battery and bring it home to keep it on a Battery Tender.

the battery is about 2 yrs old now. I just want to keep the battery charged up by using the jump battery if that will work. Don't want to take out the battery and charge it at the house if at all possible.
Thanks

Im with tobias, the battery shouldnt go down like that I would say bad battery or a short draining it. Could be a security system draining it but then its back to week battery. Just my 2 cents

If your battery is discharging in a few days, you have a more serious electrical problem. You need to find and fix that problem or nothing else will work for you, IMO.

How hard is it to unplug the maxi fuse or main breaker, whichever you have?  It's too easy even to mention on the Dyna.

You can find a 12v solar charger.  Just google 12 volt battery charger and you'll get a lot of hits.

It does sound like you have excessive current draw when the bike is shut off and you should find out what it is.

Could be a weak cell in the battery too. Pull the battery, put a full charge in it then get it load tested.

I will disconnect the battery and give it a full charge.
Haven't done any electrical changes at all so I suspect a bad cell.

My question still is when connecting a jump start battery to the bikes battery will it keep the bikes battery charged if left for a few days at a time?

Thanks for the comments thus far

Something is wrong!  Bike should sit for a month with no problem. The security system goes into hibernate. Have the battery load tested after a complete charge. If it is ok disconnect any aftermarket accys. Then do a shunt bar drain test to see what is draining the battery.

no aftermarket accessories at all on the bike.

Provided the battery is good, I would use a battery tender plug, and figure out how to hook up a 12v car or deep cycle battery to it. Then you can leave it sit for a half hour with the big battery draining to boost up the smaller one in the bike.

If the battery is on it's way out, it's going to leave you stranded.
Shiny side up, rubber side down.

The problem here is the battery runs down in several days and it shouldn't do that.
Yes. Hooking a big battery to the small battery will work to keep the small battery up, the voltage in both batteries will equalize.
