He found out at 80mph his loaded down little shadow got about 30mpg and we waited for him.  He found that while we cruised effortlessly at 80-85mph it was more than his little shadow could comfortably handle.  He changed his tune and now has a 08 roadglide.
Yep, we had a hangaround that had the same attitude.  He wanted to run with us, but after about 2 hours of 95 MPH riding, he simply could not keep up.

First let me say that I love my Harley (05 EGUC) and as long as I ride I will own a Harley. I have also owned BMW's, Honda's and Kawasaki. I have enjoyed riding all of them, but the Harley is the only one that, just looking at it, gets me excited about riding after 40+years of doing it.

I am afraid the days of of just buying American have long gone. In a global economy, if one country sneezes the rest of the world catches a cold.

Just because my Harley forks are  made in Japan, and the wheels are made in Australia, at least they are designed and assembled here in the USA.

When the susie katannas came out a kid at work bought one (1000cc?) and let me ride it. That was the fastest I've ever been on two wheels. When I got off I was literally shakin.  He was all big"Potty mouth" about how it could whip my old leaky shovel.
I'm like "Really? Whip my old shovel? " .
Then I said, " You're right but I could probably run my shovel into a wall and still get more for the leftover parts than you paid for the brand new plastirocket." End of discussion.
I believe he still has it, all mucked up in his basement with the tires rotted off. I'm thinking it couldn't beat my shovel now.
