I saw this in the Feb, Popular Mechanics mag, powerbuilt digital torque adapter, about $50. it can be used as a torgue wrench with a ratchet.

And to calibrate the calibration tool, you'll buy another calibration tool?

All our calibrations are performed at three settings; at the low end of the measurement range, at midrange and at the high end of the range.  Probably not necessary for useage on your motorcycle unless you are very low or very high on the wrench's range.

For a flex rod style torque wrench I calibrated it as follows (just for a reality check after 30 years of service):

clamp the square drive in a vise so the handle sticks out parallel to the floor.  Hang a 10, 20 and/or 30 pound weight from the handle with a wire.  The reading on the flex rod should now match the weight.  My Craftsman was still accurate after 30+ years of use but I take care of it.  It has a guaranteed accuracy so I could have returned it if it was out of tolerance.

I had my 1/2" drive, 250 ft-lb Proto torque wrench calibrated for $70. here in Houston, Texas. It was expensive but considerably less than the cost of a new wrench. And I received a calibration certificate that documents the accuracy of the wrench at four torque values.
