front fork maintaince

ok, 2004 roadking,40.000 mile.my 97 RK I just changed the fork oil,they tell me at some indy shop im looking at $380 to change cartriges.I think I can do this,I just need my HTT brothers to tell me what they know.thanks for the help

your roadking does not have cartidges in frontend ,just springs and dampeners ,thanks pete

Is there a problem with the forks?  What are you trying to do?

If on the 2004 just change the oil and try different weights.   On the '97, how many miles do you have on it?  Maybe just the springs in the 97  but no cartridges in the 2004.
