And look what I found behind that car that had been there since 1993.

I have a long history with that bike having first bought it back in the '60's. I am the second, fourth, and sixth owner of it.
The last guy I sold it to came by on it a few weeks after he bought it. It was now raked, with long forks. It had a Hunt magneto, The stock bars had been heated and bent into pullbacks. A Bird deflector covered the carburetor. All the CP hardware replaced with allen. What a mess.
A few years later he calls and asks if I would be interested in buying it back. I said hell no. You have butchered the frame and everything else. He then told me that the raked frame was one he had picked up at a swap meet and he still had the original. In fact he had boxes with every original part of the bike. As it turns out the only thing butchered were the handlebars. So I bought it home again, swapped out the frame and hung all the parts on it. I slid the tanks and front fender under a car I had parked next to it. Wouldn't ya know a tire on the car went flat and crushed the cherry tanks and fender so I brought home replacements. It is now on my list of "Things to do".

"been there since 1993"

I would have had 16 years of many sleepless nights knowing that was in the garage.  :embarrassed:
Should be a great project.

Dang... I just had my wife move her car just in case... Nothing  :emsad:  LOL

Fun project Chris.  Good lesson to remember about storing things under cars.

I looked everywhere, bathroom, bedroom, under the couch, hell even the OL's panty drawer (at least that was fun!) and the only bike I could find was my '54 FL in my kitchen. Guess my problem is I don't have a garage...

Since you're restoring it you might as well send me those Colony parts hanging on the wall.  You'll only have to throw them away anyway.

There's miles to go before I sleep.

Well if you decide its too much...I could take it on as a project, I would move it right up past my '48...or if you decide its just too far gone and part it out...I could use that rear fender on my '50! I have one, but its got the hole for some cop part in it...

Nice project Chris...so are you getting on it soon?

It is no major problen to weld in a patch for the siren cut out then dress down the welds.

I will get to work on the 1950 as soon as I finish the other '50,'36, '37,'45,'48,and Knuck bobber I am working on now. :D
