I asked a local Dyno Tuner about his services and what he shot for. Here is his reply.

I have alot of experience both with power commander and screaming eagle for the Harley's. I map bikes for all rpm's and throttle positions. For Harleys I use the following A/F's based on TPS.

Target A/F of 12.5:1  100% 80%
Target A/F of 13.0:1   60%
Target A/F of 13.5:1   40%
Target A/F of 14:0:1   20%
Target A/F of 14.6:1   10% 5% 2% 0%

These target a/f's offer the best balance of power, engine life, fuel economy, ridability.

Do these seem like a good AFR value to go for at the given TPS?

Thanks

Looks good, except for one thing...  Harley AFR maps aren't based on throttle position!

I figures TPS was ment to be Throttle Position....

Guess I might want to verify

What is the bike, build, and fuel are you using for this advice?
The following is as applied to a stage1 - mild build:

The only thing I see is way richer than necessary for 80%. We have found unless the rider is @ WOT for long durations 13.2-13.5 works best.

Also I don't tune leaner than 14.2 due to these engines liking a bit more fuel.

Not sure what the OP's statement about TP but until 2009 all HDs tuned by TP/rpm for base mapping. :dgust:

You are good to go with those AFRs for those TPs, however I wood ask the tuner to use 13.5 for 40% and above as it is just not necessary to run richer than that, unless as I mentioned, you run extended periods
@ WOT. Then you need richer AFRs so combustion temps are held down.
