I expect Police Officers to use whatever force that is needed to take control of a bad guy. We pay them to protect us from the animals. What really pisses me off is when the bad guys are not brought to justice. For those of you that see the world through rose colored glasses- Bad guys dont always give up and put hand-cuffs on themselves and jump into the back seat of the patrol cars.....

So when a member of your family objects to a ticket and the pos cop punches YOUR teenage daughter in the face I guess that makes her an animal???
How bout your plumber? he get to punch your daughter or wife in the face if they dispute his bill?? He has way more formal training than a cop on the street if he's a union journeyman.
Omnipotent cops doing whatever they please with no culpability?? sounds pretty frikin third world to me.

Poor cops get it from both sides.  I'm not an across-the-board lover or hater.  I size them up individually as I encounter them.  I've got some in the family and have to say that each of them are prime examples of what a cop should be.  Like the guy my cousin's married to.  The story goes something like there's an armed robber surrounded in the bushes and won't come out.  Cousin-in-law sneaks up behind him after a time and clobbers him in the head with his shotgun buttstock and drags him out by his ankles.  (This was several years ago in a large population-density location.)  Then gets 90 days off for saving the taxpayers further burden of paying several units to keep this guy surrounded.  I mean, he'd been spotted coming out with the loot he'd gotten brandishing a weapon and followed to his makeshift hideout; there was no mistake and this needed to be done.

I wouldn't care for the job mainly because I think a lot of the little laws on the books are stupid and may sometimes just ignore them, which a cop must never do, but I thank all the folks who decently and conscientiously take on the necessary responsibility.

She went WAY beyond objecting to a ticket.  And I doubt if he was wondering what her parents might think.  He did what he did to get her away from him so he could finish making an arrest that SHE interfered in.  Seems to me she should have steered clear, not jumped in mouth first.

I lived in Seattle and in all fairness to the P.O. and the friend of the jaywalker... she should have had more sense than to get in the middle (plan not smart).. but while living in Seattle.. I had a motorcycle cop aim his bike at me due to the fact that I had a stepped off the curb and was standing on the street as opposed to the sidewalk .... a visitor who was walking with me was shocked ... during the WTO riots, the police chase protesters from the city into the neighborhoods that had housed and supported the protesters...there is a history of Us against them mentality when it comes to the SPD and their record of enforcement of violent actions on civilians  is lacking while their over-enforcement of petty regulations such as "jaywalking" is well documented.

QuoteI expect Police Officers to use whatever force that is needed to take control of a bad guy.

To be expected but are jaywalkers truly bad guys....why enforce minor violations with the same amount of force as a violent crime when it only creates resentment and enforces a us against them attitude..

Quoteso before retirement every-time you saw a black female you thought they were animals.

This kind of assertion only promotes racism and reversed racism...anyone should be able to identify folks as they see fit regardless of what color those folks are....and without the assumption that they are racist simply for identifying behavior as they see fit...remember people who love liberty will allow for dissenting views even if those views are not popular or accepted as the "party line" for the political and socially correct..

QuoteMy friend Deputy Don started laughing and said " kind of makes a big difference which side of the window you're looking through, doesn't it. "

Even colleges that teach potential officers are often manned by teachers who are former law enforcement officers and the curriculum is often reinforced by teaching materials that further the us against them mentality...add to that the revenue collection aspect to law enforcement and you will understand why I rather deal with a Chinese cop than a Highway patrolman from Alabama...

Money, Money, Money, Monnney ! ( Tax revenue ), that is what it is all about!

But hey, Keep voting these pantie waste Libs in, you won't be able to even ride your bike anymore with the $7-8 plus price their looking to get for a gallon of Gas!

This type of revenue generation started LONG before these "Libs" got elected....Go back 6 or 7 years and look at the news reports by the AMA and MRF.

I never bothered with petty summonses before I retired from the PD, but I would have beat the living sh*t out of the animals in that video.

I think you just proved the point of those on this site who evidently have a deep love police...you don't even know the 2 people in the video but they have already classified them as animals...so before retirement everytime you saw a black female you thought they were animals...evidently violence and force is about the only way some deal with a situation....Jay walking ????  Cops are like pitbulls, althey are all nice and friendly one second but don't turn you back.....
I wouldn't let someone put their hands on me and probably most of you feel the same way.If you put your hands on a cop  in uniform, you're going to be dealt with, you know it,so no excuses for the teenager. That "Potty mouth" happens ALL the time. The cop shouln't have been dancing with the firsperp. He should have had her under control and cuffed, and the other "female" would never have been anissue. but some cops
will use less force on a woman. That's my biggest problem with the scenario.
