Hi all I have a 2007 FLHT and it has some kind of Electrical gremlins. On a recent trip to the Texas Hill Country and a couple of time since teh volt meter drops back to around 11 volts with the engine running and the battery ligh and check engine light come on in the speedometer, during the hill country run we were between Leakey and Fredricksburg and  had to get back to Fredricksburg to have any shot at a battery. After riding at the sopeed limit for about 15 miles the gauges reset and everything was good. When I got home i checked the battery it shows 12. 6 volts since then it has done it a couple of times I took it to the shop they checked everything out and found nothing.I have checked all the grounds that I can find and all are tight, battery cables are tight and clean. stator wires are in place and not loose. This morning I left for work same thing rode about a block made a left turn to start back home and it cleared up. Anyone have any ideas any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Electric gremlins suck!  I recently had an ABS light issue.  Wasn't the sensor, wasn't the bearing, turned out to be a broken wire inside the wiring harness where the MOCO ziptied the wiring harness.  If you can't find anything else, try looking at some wires inside the wiring harness.  You might have a broken wire somewhere.

Thanks for the reply I am off on vacation this week so might get some checking done.

No expert here, but I'll throw my two cents in. The maxi-fuse is the next thing in line, after the stator and regulator. Power flows threw it before it reaches the starter, battery and anything else for that matter. At least on the bikes I'm familiar with. Could be a cheap part to throw at it.

I recently was having weird electrical issues. The maxi fuse was not in the proper place. It had dropped down and was rubbing on the drive belt. The belt cut through the insulation and started wearing through the copper wire creating weird electrical events.

The condition you described could be a loss of charge current. If the battery is not being charged, the current draw of the bikes systems when riding could easily drop the voltage to 11 volts. Check the ground connections on the frame in front of the battery, and check the wire from the regulator to the battery for intermittent connection, you may want to enlist some help to wiggle wires as you watch the meter. If all that's good... sounds like a stator or regulator dying to me... Problem is, everything will probably test fine until the failure occurs for good.

We have enough youth, what we need is a fountain of SMART!

Just went through the exact same experience.   Thought it was the regulator which I replaced as well as the battery that was border line.  Still, my voltmeter would  drop low, especially at idle.   Above 2000 rpm the voltmeter might get to 12.5.   The charging system  checked perfect in every way.  Began to think out of the box if you will.  Started with the tail lights and I'll be damned.  Found a hairline short in the left turn signal/running light.  Was not enough to pop the breaker but enough to inhibit the charging system.   Repaired the short, fired up the bike and the volt meter jumpep to 14volts instantly.  Rode it for a couple hundred miles and no more problem whats so ever.  Wasn't a dead short (yet), just enough to cause my lights to dim somewhat.  BY the way all voltage reading were verified with a good digital volt meter.
I hope this helps.  Took me a month and $300.00 to pin it down.
