I tried running an OD tranny a few years ago and found it to be noisy as hell. Not just a hum in OD but a sound that was almost like a dry primary chain. It was especially noticable in 4th since on the back roads I spend a lot of time in 4th. How about your Bakers. Are they pretty quiet. I don't worry to much about a little noise in 6th because I understand it's just the nature of the beast and by that time the wind is blowing enough to drown it out. I just don't want another tranny that sounds like someone grinding monkeys in a blender.

I've been runner the Baker for about 5 yrs now (about 60000 miles) on my 113" EVO........
Smooth shifting, quiet running, easy to find neutral. No issues at all! Love it!

The OD tranny gears should be a bit noisy since they are all straight cut.  However they may be more efficient and stronger and would probably be the best choice for anyone that tends to be hard on transmissions.
The DD6   gears 4,5,6 are angle cut and run very quiet.   I run a DD6 with my 116" Dyna and consider myself to be easy on the drivetrain with occasional WO throttle.

Try red line shock proof trany lube or some other syn lube . amsoil & red line are  the 2 brands i use , no noise no problems. give Baker a call about your troubles.
