Power Commander Opinions

2002 RK,  Am going to buy a Power Commander. Should I get it from PC themselves or Fuel motto? A III or a V? Thanks for any explaining

The same model hardware is going to be the same no matter where you buy it, I know Fuelmoto goes the extra step and will load a canned map that will be somewhat close to your builds needs.....kinda gotta figure how much time you are wanting to invest, along with your ability in trying different maps and tweaking said maps....some guy's love playing with it and others find it a PIA.....If you just want to plug and go I'd advise talking to FM......I'm not up to speed on the latest models but I love the USB I have been using for 4 years.....

I recently had a power commander USB go out on me after about 4 years. Replaced with mastertune

If you have to buy one, get the Fuelmoto version which doesn't have the exterior buttons.  It'll save you some coin you don't need to spend anyway and their service is definitely top-tier.  Plus they double the warranty.

I'm not a great fan of PCs when a different method is available, but in your case it'd be a wash in capabilities to go that route or to program the ECU natively.  And the PC-III would be cheaper.

I'm pretty sure the PC-V will not interface with your system anyway.

I'd buy it from Fuel Moto. Bought mine from Fuel Moto, ended up haveing a short where the bike would not restart until it cooled off. Sent it to Dyno Jet for repair. Took them 2 weeks to send it back.......with the same problem which they claim they fixed with a firmware update.  Jamie at Fuel Motto sent me a new unit which I had in 3 day's.

I had a 3 in my Heritage.  Easy set up.  NO reason for the 5, because it's big claim to fame is the ability to ADD the -auto tuner.

A 3 is a tried and true method and Fuel Moto will get you close on the map.

I've had power commanders cause more problems than they solve, especially the V for some reason.
