i have an 87 flhs ,with a s&s 96,,8000 miles,on new motor,,it has started vibrating lately, only between 1500 and 2000 rpm,,it shakes the handle bars off''i started looking for probs and found a broke front motor mount-replaced,a worn engine sprocket and primary chain-replaced,checked all mounts,,it still vibrates between 1500- 2000 rpm,i'm going to check the ignition weights tomorrow ( compu-fire ) and compression check,,i'm stumped here,,,does anybody have any ideas,,,this is driving me crazy,,any help or ideas on where else to look much appreciated............btw it idles perfect and over 2000 rpm's is smooth as silk,,i also just changed wires, and single fire coil,,,thx

If you just recently changed the ignition that's where I would look first.  Perhaps the ignition isn't advancing like it should (too early or too late).  Only other thing that I can think of is some kind of physical interference (like an exhausat piece or something) that is actually bumping the frame at some point.  I would look at the exhaust and at the distance between the frame and the bottom of the inner primary (around the alternator area).

Check your tire pressure and wheel balance as well. Could be coincidence that you lost a weight or have low pressure just after you changed the motor.
With all the other issues you fixed with no resolution, could be something that simple.
Tires can wear off center and cause a vibration at any speed too!

Had something like this once. Turner out a stone was lodged between the back of the gearbox and the frame. Tranfered the vibrations of the rubber mounted motor direct to the frame. It was not pleasent, removed the stoen and all was weel again with thr world.
