ME880 vs. ME880XXL

I need to purchase a new front tire for my '02 Road King  (120/70-21) and I am looking at the ME880 and the ME880XXL. What is the difference? Is it just the speed rating or are the other attributes. By the way I have a ME880 on the rear and is mixing the two a problem?

the xxl tires are the large fat tires used on customs

The ME880 and the ME880XXL both come in 120/70-21 so size should not be a consideration.
