socket size please

Replacing rear disc brake and pads on my Y2K flh...aint got the 12 point socket needed for the brake pins. Can someone tell me the size so I can go get the right 1 this afternoon?

Yes - 1/4".  You will need a thin wall socket such as a Sears Craftsman.  I think most of the chinese crap may be too thick.

if you have small set of ignitions wrenches the 1/4" one will work as well.  Not much torq on them.

Last time I changed rear pads, I busted the socket...I figured Cheap China crap. I went to sears and bought 2 sockets just in case. I busted the first right out of the package. I had to take it to my buddies garage and have to air wrench put on it to get them loose. Needless to say they went back on with a hand wrench.

Thanks everyone.  Everything went well. New Russell stainless disc and LRB gold pads. Disc screws need impact wrench. Pad screws came loose with hand ratchet and got anti-seize then torqued to 190 INCH pounds.  Middle of the 180--200 inch pound required. Now for a ride....
