OK Guys...here is the update on my claim with Progressive in NC.
Dealer priced out everything to put her back in A-1 condition. New tank, new fender and everything with a nick on it. Total about $7500 labor and all. Told him I would like to do my own repairs...no problem. They paid me the same thing the dealer quoted. They also paid for boots, helmet, gloves, Rx glasses, leather coat. (I just sent pictures showing damage)
When I took it a part I found a few more little items. ($330) No problem...sent me another check.
Very good experience...

Had a claim with Progressive a couple of years ago with good service.
Claim adjuster came to my house, did a good look around and documented everything we found and asked if I wanted to do the repair myself or take it to the local dealer. Anyway, I had a check in  in the mail in only a couple of days. He used the Harley Price catalog for his estimate and told me if I found anything else to let him know which I did when I found the rear drive sporocket warped. He added it to the check.
I did choose a different provider tho when time to renue due to increase in premium cost.

I had a claim with my Progressive insurance - ONCE! They also jacked my bike insurance up to $1600 a year - I have the same bike with more coverage now insured at Farmer's Group for $276 a year.

    Farmers has paid out claims for my vehicles and house that they couldn't get back in 20 years of payments... Never a hassle and great to work with when you need their help... My insurance only went up about 15% total, so can't complain at all...

My fatboy sat w/o a frontend for 51 weeks before those Progressive corksuckers approved payment. After six months, I asked them to total the bike as it would have been cheaper for them. The dude, then the woman, keep coming to see the bike and take pics til I said "No more". They paid off $300 less than the original estimate because of "depreciation" :gob:.  NEVER bet with Progressive. You will lose.

I guess you never can get a bunch of Harley riders to agree on something. I have not filed a claim but I switched to Progressive years ago when Dairyland raised my rates. Now paying $270 for a 2010 Roadglide which includes $100K/300K liability and the rates did not go up any from the 2002 Roadking.  Seems I remember threads about the hailstorm in Sturgis a few years back and I think it was Progressive that was the only insurance company had reps out there cutting checks to riders the same day. I suppose you take your chances with any of them. They are big companies with a lot of different regional and area managers running there own little operations to a degree.

On a Sunday morning, I totaled an 5 month old 04 Screamin Eagle Electra Glide about 500 miles from home (hit a deer).  The following Friday, my Progressive Insurance representative hand delivered a check to my home - a check for $500 more than I paid for the bike.  Completely painless process and very satisified.

I think most people's satisfaction or dissatisfaction with their insurance company has quite a lot to do with their individual agent/representative - and less to do with the actual insurance company.  Kind of like a MOCO...  Your dealer has a large impact on your relationship with the MOCO - both good and bad.

From a Progressive vendor point of view,Buyer beware, they will try to fix your vehicle the cheapest way possible, even if it compromises the value of the vehicle in the end....Patching and splicing wiring harnesses, using inferior aftermarket replacement body parts and the list goes on.
If you have a claim with them they will come in and try to get you to accept their offer in a hurray, and we all know what happens when we make hasty decisions.
I work for a large auto recycler and deal with them on a daily basis, thats why I don't use them.

Also the fact that the CEO Peter whatever his name is,is a HUGE contributor to the O Bama political machine.

First let me state I ride an FLHX and the wife has a CVO Springer.  Early spring Last year she had a 07 GSXR which she totalled due to a dumb ass in a pick up changing into her lane and running her off the road.  Progressive paid the claim in 1 week, we were very satisfied with the settlement. Even paid for replacemnt cost of a new helmet, Leather Joe Rocket jacket and riding boots.  No rate increases yet so we renewed,
no regrets. :smiled:

July 2009, I laid my RK over slow speed crash.  Progressive agent called me. I said I wasnt going to turn it in cause I thought the dammage was not enough to cover the deductable.  He said I had no deductable anymore and asked me where I wanted it taken to- then set up a 3 way phone conversation with the dealer.  Dealer came to my place picked up the bike,  The Adjuster wrote a quote then asked the dealer to look it over and they added a bunch of stuff.  Came out to close to $5000 on a 1995 RK ---- Was fixed with all Harley Davidson parts and even replaced the aftermarket fairing [memphis shades batwing] with no questions. When I went to pick the bike up the dealer wasnt happy with the outcome of the paint on the fairing and I was told to return it in a week so they could do it again.     Progressive also paid for my riding gear and also cut a check on the spot for my girlfriend who was with me, She had a bruise on her knee [worth $2000]     A month later I get a letter about accident forgivness and no raise in premium in 2010.
