EFI to Carb Question

I have a 2002 EFI Road King. I have a complete harness from a 2004 Carbed Road King.I'm thinking that all I need from the complete harness is P/N 32435-04 which is the ignition harness. Any reason that this shouldn't work? I know that I would have to use the new style single plug Ignition module. Is there anything that I'm over looking?
I haven't done this before, so any help would be appreciated.

That wont work. The single plug ignition, 04 and later, will be looking for a security module and a speedo that it can share a password with.

It should work with no problems. I changed over an 04 RK from FI to a carb. I bought just the ignition harness and a Crane Hi4 ignition module for a carbed 04 model. Other than a carb type coil and a pingel petcock and obviously a manifold and carb, every thing went really smooth. By the way the 04 had a security system and it didn't give me any problems from the swap. Now if only the 06 RK was as easy.

So what do I have to do to make it work? My bike came from the factory wiith the security system installed. If I get a 04 speedometer and the speedometer harness will that solve the problem?

I can't give you a definitive answer as to how to make that work. All I can tell you is that 04 and later carb bikes using OEM modules link the speedo, security module, and ECM with a 'password'. I would use pre 04 parts if I were trying to convert that bike.
If someone else can explain how those parts can be incorporated, I'll learn something, too.

Maybe I found a way out of this mess. Does anyone know if the Ignition harness from an 2001 will work on a 2002 to do the EFI to Carb conversion?

Thanks, that really answers alot of questions. So if I'm going to do the conversion I will need either a 2002 or a 2003 ignition harness.
