Do i have a cat converter on my 2008 flhtp  and what is a good pipe set up with tuner and air cleaner  will i gain much by adding a cam   thanks in advance

Unless it has already been modified, you should have catalytic converters in your mufflers. I really can't advise on the best pipes or air cleaners however, yours should be fuel injected. If it is, the injection computer will adjust for different pipes (Even straight pipes without baffles). By the way, that is straight from Harley Davidson and when a friend of mine put straight through fishtails on in place of the stock mufflers, the computer did, in fact, compensate and the bike runs great.

Hope this helps.

if that's the case there would be no need for me to spend money for a dyno tune   did he put a high flow air cleaner also  thanks for info

As far as I know, there are no cats in the 08s, unless you are dealing with a CA bike.  Emissions are different for them.  As best I remember at least for the Touring line, the 06's had cats - only in the right muffler.  In 07, O2 sensors were added, cats were deleted (except CA), and cats did not return until 2010 in the headpipe.   I think the 110s got cats too, either CVO or 110 kits.

Yeah, as harleyjet pointed out, California bikes had catalytic converters in '08. I meant to point that out but it slipped past me. I apologize for that. Since I don't know where you are from, I can't say with certainty that you '08 has cats.

With that said, to answer your question, No, my friend did not put a high flow air cleaner on. He just put the straight thru fishtails. If yours is fuel injected, check your head pipes for oxygen sensors. If you have them, then your FI is computer controlled and it should compensate for changes in exhaust system. I'm not certain but, logic tells me that it should also compensate for incresased air flow because the purpose of the sensors is to determine the amount of air in the exhaust and then compensate by adjusting the fuel flow from the injectors. Of course that all takes place in mili-second.

Anyway, I hope this helps and I apologize for the omission in my first post.
