Replacing a Speedometer Cable / SensorHi

Hi there,
Well my Speedometer sensor cable final went out on me    How hard is it to replace?  I see the bottom half is easy to get to, however its the other end up towards the gas tank that has me baffled.  Do I have to pull the tank ?  Sure would appreciate any hints/tricks.
