My 03 FXST started making a metal to metal noise so I took the cam cover off to find that the exhaust lobe for the number one cylinder is very ruff. So I need new cams and lifters. Right now I have chain drive and would like to go back with gear drive. This is a 95" HTCC CNC ported heads with HTCC forged pistons .010 over. So what cam would be a good choice? Does anyone rent the tools to do the cam and bearing change? Thanks for any help

You may as well plan on a new oil pump too.
Yes! I am an Infidel.
And proud of it!

Check the swap meet board. There's a member that rents the cam tools. You can also buy the tool reasonably from madtownrydr, also available on the swap meet board.

convert it over to the new style , which will give you a new and better oil pump.

Likely culprit is those overkill valve springs in those heads.

I'm thinking about Wild Things 26g. Where would be a good place to buy them?

Before you go with those cams, start a new thread on the cam choice and get the head porters to weigh in.  IIRC, those cams require some specific head work to optimize the performance and you may need to re-think heads/pistons to run those cams.
