I'm looking to fabricate a bracket for my Zumo. I already have a template drawn out to scale however all the metal shops in my area don't want to do it as there is no money in making one item. Are there any metal workers here willing to take a crack at it?

Thanks

I have a small shop and some sheetmetal experience...if I can see the drawing I'll let you know if I can Help..Whats involved, contouring, bending, welding? And whats the material?

I also see you're with Ride Like a Pro ..I didn't know RLAP was out west...I've seen Jerry's videos and have always wanted to take the course..Now you got me thinking !
If my thought dreams could be seen they'd  put my head in a guillotine.. Dylan

If blade can't handle it, drop me a PM. I am thinking a new Ride Like A Pro video would coverany expense! :potstir:
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

If you have it drawn up in a CAD package, go to   www.Shapeways.com,   download their add-on to save it as an STL file, email it to them, and in 14 days for a fair price you'll have a 3-D printed part.

VERY cool stuff, IMHO.  :smiled:

Thanks,

I sent the templeate to PoorUB. He's going to look it over and see if it's doable. Not to worry, I'll make sure to send him the right kind of "Pro" Dvd......LOL!!!!

Hey PoorUB,

I mailed that bracket template to you last week. Did it ever make it to your house?

Thanks

I got it. Looks simple enough. I should have it done this week. My understanding is you wanted it bent up, like a "Z" shape, but not bend that much? Pretty much 90 degree bends?

Sorry for the crude drawings, but yes, gentle 90 degree bends. That way it will hook over the left side (clutch side) fairing mount, come out at 90 degrees (or whatever works best and has clearance) and then bend UPwards so the GPS can mount flat on it.

Thanks

Then you better find a differant sheet metal man!
I don't mind doing onesy twosy deals, but when it starts to resemble work I loose interest real fast! I have plenty to do with work and my spare time that I don't want to get bogged down. I turn away work darned near everyday! I really need a clone!
