I have a friend that is playing around with a Power Commander III on his 2006 FXDL. The motor is a 95" flat top pistons, TW 21H cams, Screaming Eagle breather and Rinehart 2 into1 exhaust. He is trying to avoid dyno tuning and wondered if there are any common set ups on the low, mid range and high range settings. Right now he has the low ahead one marks, the mid ahead two marks and the high at zero. Ahead means in the clockwise direction I believe. Any thoughts and / or should he try a download. Power commander does not have the exact download for his set up. I think he should have it tuned. His email address is jbach142@gmail.com if you want send any information to him directly.

1) try a download. How about M811-006 for Rhinehart 2:1 and what have you?

2) Does he have the factory 95" Stage 1 download in the ECM? That can make a nice starting point. The 88" Stage 1 was a nice starting point for  my 88" with TW 21G cams and Supertrapp 2:1 anyway. The PCIII made it even better.

3) The 2006 FXDs have O2 sensors don't they? And Dynojet make you disconnect them. So, buy an AFR meter, hook it up to the 'unused' O2 sensors and never go near a tuner again.
I have the RB Racing one on order, I'll let you know how it works out!

why is he using the butons, he should be looking at maps and downloading them.

if you want to spend a little registration cash, v-twin forum has a "Potty mouth"load of maps on there, it takes some time to sort through them, you can search before reg'n to see if one is compatable. I found one for mine that was very close to my setup, and compared with the stup from fuel moto if friggen rocked. Still need to get it dyno'd, but right now shes running very strong

Hey if you want search to  find one pm me the link to the exact post and I'll d'load it for you
Lots of toys, but no time

Those maps are just a starting point for a good tuner...Spend the $$...JMHO...

Call, don't e-mail, Call the dynojet tech assistance line. They will suggest maps to get you close. But a session with a good tuner will probably be money well spent.
