I have a 06 police road king I ride solo and im not sure what psi I should keep in the shocks. thanks

Don D

Enough to prevent it from bottoming and to handle properly. The load will dictate the actual pressure needed. Don't be afraid to experiment

ok thanks i just dont want to blow it up or out

Use only a low pressure suspension pump. Never use a compressor as the source or you will blow them out. 05psi to about 25psi is the range.

If you are riding try starting out at 10 to 12 psi. if the ride is to hard you can let a little out but always check with a gauge the shocks don't hold much air. The beat thing to inflate them with is a small hand pump. H.D. has one with a pressure gauge right on it I leave mine in the saddle bag and I can adjust where and when I want if I need to.

For the life of me i cannot figure out why all my customers think theyre "bottoming out" their stock shocks. Im 200lbs and (the ex wife ;D) was even bigger and with the bike fully loaded with 10psi in the shocks it NEVER bottomed out. I suspect that once the shocks fully extend coming off the bumps theyre feeling them topping out. Imo, 25psi in those shocks makes it feel like a rigid.
