One method I've used to set the S&S is to get on the expressway and keep the speed at a perfect one single speed (ex., 65 mph).  I check my watch at a mile marker then ride about 30 mile markers and note the exact time it took.  Then I get off at the next exit, pull over at a McDonalds, get a cup of coffee, do the math, and figure out the percent difference.  (The coffee is required and part of the calibration procedure.)

Or you could use this, and you can figure out what your speed should be. http://bigboyzheadporting.com/Gearratio.htm

I could also strap the GPS on the bike. I think it's pretty accurate. Do they sell beer at Mickey Ds?

Again, I don't think it is your Cal. unit.My bike is doing the same as yours after a DD6 install, and I have NOT installed a cal. unit on it yet,but I didn't install the shim either.I would guess that it put an error code in the bike and you will have to get the dealer to remove it.

There are absolutely no problems when the cal unit is removed except the speedo reads low. Withe the cal unit installed, it threw an error code for the zero speedo reading. I cleared the code myself (don't need a dealer to clear fault codes) and it didn't return with the cal unit removed. If you didn't install the shim, you will have almost zero clearance between the gear teeth and the tip of the sensor, and the end of the sensor could eventually get ground off. It could also be the reason you are having the problem.

Is it possible to use the TTS to correct the MPH reading on the electric speedo on say an 2005 FLHTC SE2? If so, could you give me some idea how? Appreciate any advise on the subject.

Just closing this out. I installed the S&S calibrator today, and it fixed all the problems. Speedo works great, no more codes, etc. Hoooooooray!

What percent did you end up setting it at?

It's set at +13% right now. I'll be checking it with my GPS when I get time.
