2005 Road King. I have the cams out, and I was thinking of putting something a little better back in. The bike has a Power Commander, High Flow air cleaner and V/H mufflers.

I wanted something in the middle of the road. I was thinking of the S/E 254E Kit.

Suggestions?

Yes sir, asking for Cam advice is totally subjective. How about an Andrews 37.. Or HQ 0039.. Or SE 204’s .The choices are many.
Good Luck.
If it ain't broke... Fix it until it is.

S&S 510 is a good middle of the road bolt in cam. Power kicks in around 3k rpm but sting as stock below that.

SE-204's great all around performance gain from stock.

S&S .570`s are a good choice for a all around upgrade cam set.where are you looking for power (RPM range)?

I'll say Andrews 48N conversion cam. If it is still an 88 the 29* intake close will give you a boost in compression and torque. It has a .548" lift which will help carry the power out further. Since the bike is an 05 it will have bee hive valve springs like the 06-up heads do so it will be a bolt in cam unlike the 99-04 which require a spring change.

SE 254E will not fit your bike. It is for 06 Dyna and 07-up Big Twins only.

Hard to beat the SE204 ya should be able to pick up a set for cheap...take a peek a fleabay or here maybe in the swap section.

The 48's sound good also, but that conversion setup is gonna cost a tad more.

Assuming the rest of the motor is stock id go with the 48 or tue 204. Ive run the andrews 26 in a bunch of them with good results too.
Speed costs money. How fast do you want to spend?
