I thought I posted this before but I can't find it. If this is a repeat, please accept my apology. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket XM-Siruis satelite radio receiver for touring bikes. OEM is to expensive to make it practical. Want it to install under fairing similar to OEM.
Any info would be appreciated.

I think they only option you'll find to do this is with an aftermarket radio installed (Like a Sony deck). I don't believe there are any other internal units available that will connect to the stock radio.

J&P and some of the other aftermarket suppliers have some different handlebar brackets. It depends what model radio you get too. I found when I looked around I just got frustrated at all the different models and what would work with what mount, etc. I just got a cheap one on clearance at Wal-Mart (under $20) and put it in the tour pak, can't change stations when riding but I usually stop in 100 miles or so anyway and just change it then if I want, rain is not an issue that way either. The antenna will work inside the tour-pak if you don't have a luggage rack, it blocks it every now and then so I put mine on top, don't look the best though. I cancel my sub in the winter and by April they are sending me offers of 5 months for $25. Not under fairing like you and I want but it works till I find a better option.

I had a Kenwood stereo in my dragonfly, and I still have the Serius reciever for it.
I think the reciever was about 100.00, and you could pick up a stereo for not much more, but you'd lose your controls.

Here's what I have: Alpine CDA9886 head unit, satellite ready, however, I have the alpine/sirius adapter box made for the Alpine so I have a Sirius Stratus 6 mounted in the tourpak. Reason I have it like that even though the stereo itself is satellite ready I can take the Stratus 6 in the house to listen to, or my truck, etc. I get way more use out of it by not having it permanently mounted somewhere. I can't use the hand controls to change the satellite station, but I can change it from the head unit. I also have an Ipod hookup, and usb port where I have a flashdrive full of music plugged into. These I can control from the hand controls..

This does not fall into your under the fairing requirement, but I have the typical XM radio receiver for a car on a mount on the RH handle bar, Delphi Roady 2. Works great, and cheap too. I bought the receiver from Best Buy on closeout for $20.
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

Yup, both of my baggers are older FLT's with the radio pods.  I've got a pair of $20 Walmart Sirius units attached to the top of the radio pods with that heavy duty hook and loop fasteners.  Takes about 10 min to move them both from the respective cars to the bikes when we decide to go for a ride.  Since they're behind the windshields a sandwich bag will protect them from rain while we ride and at night I just unplug them and take them into the room to avoid having them stolen.
