cheapest price for a set of dunlops for 07 ultra

Want to hear from members where the cheapest prices for a set of dunlop 402's or the elite 3.
I'm looking for the best deal and thought this might be the way to do it. Thanks!

 :nix: :agree:I purchased my E3's from Jake Wilson last year and found after an extensive search they had the best prices, and free shipping. You also my want to try Cycle Gear for tire prices, I understand there have been members here that received comprable pricing from them as well.

 flhtcu2007, just ordered a set of E3's from Jake Wilson tonight (MU90/16 and MT90/16) for $228.00 delivered to my door in Oregon. I could not find any coupons available from Jake Wilson this time. Last time I had a coupon code that saved my an additional $20.

I checked both Cycle Gear and Motorcycle Superstore and Jake Wilson's pricing was better than both. Jake Wilson's (coupon or not) I have found to be the best pricing and fastest shipping on the net. That has been my experience anyway!!

I just got my set of dunlops last thursday and looked at all three,  J. Wilson,  R. Ayres and D. Kirk.  After all said and done J wilson was the cheapest by 1 penny under Dennis Kirk.  I ordered and got the same great service from kirk as I always got before.  Ordered front and rear and got them three days later.  I mount my own and have two indies around here that will spin them for me for $25.

I got to go up on my prices, walk-in wheel and tire, I get $25. to mount and ballance..... :scratch:

Warhorse, $25.00 is what I'm charging for mount and balance as well. Heck, it's a 5 minute job with the rim clamp and elctronic balancer.

Most shops around here will not install online tires .  But our local KawisaKI DEALER WILL & ONLY $25.00 a WHEEL   :bike:

I've gone back to static balance with the zero friction "No-Mar" set up, it takes a little more time , I do have an electronic balancer, but I need to mention that I do a number of crotch rocket wheels too, and those guys prefer the job I do.

My Quick-Way rim clamp only does up to 19" rims, so larger are done by hand, not a problem since breaking the bead is the hard part and the machine does a fine job for all sizes..

I always said I would never change my own tires, but several years ago I got tired to playing games with the dealers and said screw it.  I went out and got that cheap H-F outfit (which they no longer sell) and began ordering tires from D-K and doing them myself.  I use a pair of jack stands and the changer center post to static balance.  Most of the time no weight is required, and I have never felt a vibration or shimmy.  I believe I had 9 rear tires replaced before I went the DIY route, but here is why I did:

Of those 9 times, only one dealer ever properly inflated the tire.  The remainder of the time the tire came with 30 PSI or less.

One time I did have a vibration because the dealer's spin balancer was malfunctioning and indicated the wrong weight or position.

One Time I received my bike back and the dealer did not pump up the rear brake after spreading the caliper, so I ended up in traffic with no rear brake, and

One time my dealer refused to install a tire I had bought at another dealer despite the fact he did not have a whitewall in stock when I needed it.  This was the one that left me with no brake previously.  That was the final straw, I was fed up with their BS.

Anyway you can make a decent manual changer from an old rim from a junkyard and some wood and threaded rod.  all you need is a mount/dismount bar (widely available) and a homemade bead breaker.  There is a lot of good articles and you tube stuff about doing it.  you can even use spoons instead of the mount-dismount bar.  Just keep the opposite side of the tire in the drop zone and you will be fine.  Not as hard or mysterious as you would imagine.

D-K ships tires in boxes which are great to flatten out and sit on when you are working.

When my dealer quoted me $75 per tire to R&R on the bike, plus the great price of $170 for a tire I went looking, and bought the HF changer, Mojo bar, and Mojo blocks. I changed both front a rear on my '05 Ultra in just a touch over an hour. I built a static balancer and bought a box of stick on weights from an auto parts store. Do the math and I paid for it all on the third or forth tire change, and I change them when I want to, once Saturday night about 2 AM when I was not in the mood to sleep. Plus the dealer wants to schedule in the time and you leave the bike and pick it up later, so two trips to the dealer. With all the hassle I can change tires faster and easier at home.

What really kills me is I was helping setup tables in the back of the shop for a HOG function and watched the tech roll in a bike and change out both tires on a bagger. It took him maybe 45 minutes, start to finish. This is the same dealer that wanted to charge me 2 hours for that 45 minute job.
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

The local YamaWama dealer will put the tires on the wheels and balance them for $20.00.
