I was just thinking of the pressure de-rating and thought that should negate the tendency for the motor to ping. My only frame of reference however are carbed EVOS when I lived in AZ and NV mountains. Different spark control for sure.

Sure the pressure is down but look at the amount of timing that it wil call for on a basic stock bike with cam and pipe ac.  Now way is the engine going to handle  28+ degrees of lead under WOT pull as the 70 and 80 ends up being WOT pulls on the stockers, a built engine will not move so far to the left.
