My son has a 06 StreetGlide that has started having radio problems.

First, the backlight quit working.

Then a week or so later, the entire face went out.
The radio still functions, but with no lighting.

Is there anything I can look at or is this going to be a trip to the dealer?

Every time I hear about a radio problem on a Harley, it's a 2006 or later. Wasn't that the year when they changed to the Harmon-Kardon brand?

I was talking to a fellow with a 2007 CVO touring machine last weekend at the Harley dealer. He was waiting at the service door to have his third new H-K radio installed. They keep losing one or the other channel in the stereo.

I think the HK Radios are made by Lucas Electrics  :potstir:

Thanks HV.
I was hoping you would post on this.
I'll show him their web site tomorrow.

+1 for Iron cross, great people.

My radio has developed my first issue with my SG...not a big one, but for some reason the radio turns on automatically about every third time I start the bike. This is mostly a nuisance as I never listen to the radio. I just turn it back off.
