I was told the vests that hold water do not work very well in high humidity.  Is that true?   :nix:

Nothing works in high humidity except staying in the cool shower.   lol

That could be true.  You are relying on the convection process of water evaporating from the skin which in turn cools it.  This process is slowed if there is significant moisture (humidity) in the surrounding air.  In such a case, you want as much air reaching the skin, so IMO a thin (wet) t-shirt or similar wet, thin material would work better than something thick, like these vests.  The vests have 2 layers of fabric, along with the hydrophilic material.  Hard for air to move through, but they do work good in dry climates like here in Colorado.  Not so good in humid climes.

The cooling vest I bought has those packs that you freeze and put in the vest.  I bought a small cooler from them that keeps the extra packs frozen for quit a while.  I put my leather vest on over it.  Works fairly good.   :teeth:
