I'm looking for a helmet headset for a full face helmet. can't afford the best but would like to find something good.
Will be used for bike to bike through CB and radio, no intercom. Every one I ride with just uses the CB for bike to bike, so no need for the scala (sp)or anything like that.
I already have the coiled cord to the helmet, I think it may be HD and an old headset that no longer transmits, and there's no way of mounting to a helmet.
Anyway, your suggestions would be appreciated, along with a link of where to buy ?
TIA

I would try stick with the stock HD headset. Watch Ebay or the swap meet here. Usually you can pick up a nearly new OEM HD headset for $100-$125. I bought two from a guy a couple years ago for $125 shipped for the pair.
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

:agree: I did a search and found a place that offered headsets for 69 bucks, but I am sure they are like cell phone headsets...you get exactly what you pay for, better to spend a little more than spend an extra $69. I have the HD headsets and they sound great both ways. I heard the JM's have good sound but the mic doesn't pickup your voice as well (better noise cancellation or just less sensitive). So that would mean if you are riding and talking with more than one person your voice wouldn't be as loud as the next guy thats using a HD one. I know its annoying in the truck when running with 2 people that have a big difference in modulation levels. I found one for a friend on Craigslist for $70, had been used very little. It was for a full face and it worked fine on a half helmet with some velcro on the side straps to hold the speakers in place.

When I go on long rides, I use a set of Sony ear buds with noise supression built into them.  They are a pia when putting the helmet on (will fall out if I'm not careful) but other than that, they block out my loud pipes and wind noise.  Am able to keep the tunes turned down low so I don't end up with my ears ringing like I had to do when I had ear phones in my helmet.  Connected them directly to the bike's speakers so I can control the volume with the speaker volume controls.  Without all the noise, I am fresher when I arive - noise wears me out on a long ride.
We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.

Saw a couple units for sale in the Swap Meet section, might be what your looking for.
There's not a machine made that if you don't try hard enough you can't break..

Thanks for your help. I found a near new HD headset for a good price.
Thanks for all that helped.
