As you know a Ultra comes with a front and rear headset plug.
Well a streetglide doesn't.
Has anybody ever run wires for a rear connectors so you can hook up a headset from the HK radio ?

Thanks.

Just get the Boom Audio communications kit from HD and wire it up.  They sell the kit to add just such a thing to FLHX's, etc.

I made a connector for my Road Glide using a 1/8" female lead from Radio Shack.  I hooked the ground connector to one of the black wires going to the speakers and the two positive (red) connectors to the appropriate stereo leads.  Covered the female connector end with heat shrink and it worked fine.  All leads were soldered and protected.  I put the lead out in the Road Glide right glove box so I did not have to look at it except when I wanted to use the ear buds.  The speakers are 2 ohm and the ear buds are 8 ohm.  Did not appear to make any difference that I could tell.  Best part is being able to use the volume control on the left handle bar to control the volume.  Warning - If you are going to use this, start on a very low setting and keep it low so you can hear what is going on around you.  I keep mine turned as low as possible so I'm aware of my surroundings and also only when on the interstates where traffic is a little more predictable.  I recommend that no one use ear buds around town or anywhere that has eratic traffic where you really need to be aware of what is going on - too many people not looking where they are going - phones and texting.

Last year when I was in Daytona for bike week I asked the HK guys if they could see any problems with what I did.  They said "if it works - it must be ok".  Used mine for 5 years with no problems.
