my old man has an 05 Electra glide with an after market deck and some stock-ish speakers. needless to say the sound quality sucks at freeway speeds. what kinda system (amp speakers) to you guys recommend? he wants to keep everything in the front faring and does not want to remove any gauges. thanks for the help guys, Nick

Ive had one of these for 4 years and its never missed a beat. Its a plug and play with HD's hand controls

I'm happy with my Biketronics kit with a Sony deck, and I have 2 good friends that love theirs. With the USB memory stick, I can store thousands of songs.
Forget the bull"Potty mouth" - it's all about two wheels and a motor!

:agree: running the stock radio here with the Titan amp & 6.5 speakers from biketronics it rocks.

WHAT KIT DID YOU GUYS USE? (sorry for caps) the 180 watt kit or 75 watt kit. is it loud enough where you can hear it clear at freeway speed? thanks

I have a 99 ultra and would like to do the same but the radio works well an connects to my iPod an sounds better. I would love to to the speakers any a Rockford amp ...but don't think they would mix if my head unit needed to be replaced later.

its my old man's , not mine. im not sure if it ever had  stock deck in it to be honest. he bought it in 08 and i think it had an aftermarket deck in it already. if he has the stock one i will pm you

the best way to make the radio sound better at speed is with a pair of nice foam earplugs, unbelievable how good it works, blocks out most of the wind and road noise and you can hear the music perfectly

Same here.  I quit using my Ultra's speaker system several years ago.  It's so much more pleasant with helmet-mounted speakers.  Prior to that, I had the 4-speaker Enhanced Audio kit from HD and aftermarket speakers.  The audio was awesome.  But after trying headphones in the helmet, I've never gone back to using the motorcycle's speakers.

I always thought about others riding around me not liking my choice of music.  With headphones, it's not a worry.
