Does anybody shop Zanotti anymore?  The great discounts I see when I order any part are offset then some by their exorbitant shipping charges.

I have been checking their site for parts recently, and even at full price at my local HD dealer the cost is cheaper locally.

I am wondering if anybody is getting a deal at Zanotti?

I called Zanotti and asked why whey charged me $20.00 to ship a small part that could have gone USPS first class for less than 2.  He told me they use UPS and the charges include the box and packing too.  The unit arrived in a used box.....

has anybody found a good internet discount outlet for genuine HD parts?

Jon at Horny toad harley has beaten everybody lately.  Fast service to boot.

Chicago HD discounts their parts prices and keeps the shipping cost within reason.  I normally compare total costs for parts between Zanotti and Chicago before placing an order.

I find for the most part I get a good price on parts at Zanotties. You do need to shop around, but none of the dealers around me have ever beat Zanotties.

I always had the best luck with Zanottis until I ran into Jon on another forum and since that time he has always beaten Z's when all was said and done.  Some of the stuff by a long ways.

I am not talking about the cost of the part itself, zanotti's has great prices, I am talking about the total cost to get the part.  Zanotti's has been overcharging for shipping and the end result is more than full price with no discount at my local dealer.

Please post contact information for Jon, at Toad HD.  and Chicago HD, I would like to compare them as well.

Thanks,

When I converted to a carburetor from FI, I used Chicago, Zanotti and my 10% discount HOG sponsor dealer. I saved a few bucks by doing that even with the sales tax I had to pay for buying in state.
Bottom line is, you have to shop, just like for insurance.
Listen to the jingle the rumble and the roar.

When I recently purchased a hydraulic cam tensioner billet plate conversion for my bike, Zanotti's was the same as my local dealer, at $429 + like $20 to ship. I got it through Adventure HD for $300.00 with free shipping. I had never bought from them before, but when I Googled the part number, they popped up. Parts salesman was pretty much clueless, but I'll take a hundred dollar savings anytime...

What other places do you use to get genuine HD parts?  internet sources.

Xanadu

what web site do you use to access parts at horny toad HD?  Some sites have a spot where you enter your part and the price is displayed, I cant find that page on HT HD.

The way I look at it if I don't pay sales tax I don't mind paying shipping, it seems to balance out.

I just used Zanotti for a FXRS speedo.  List $200 at local HD and other online HD Dealers, sold for $140 via web page.  Called to check if in stock first, parts Guy at Zanotti quoted $200.  So I ordered online.

Good deal if you ask me.

Yep. That's the way I see it. There's another thing about Zanotti's that need to be mentioned. They are quite reliable and they are fast on shipping. They also give a 20-22% discount on Harley parts. If they don't have it in stock, they can get it in about three days. Their communication is excellent as well.

I bought a gear indicator, a chrome speedo Nacelle and a Windshiield for my 2011 FXDB so far since April and I've saved about $100 even considering the shipping. They are OK with me.

:agree: Also depends on how big and heavy the item is and how far you live from them and how soon you want it.

If your just buying one or two things I would agree that Zannoti is expensive with there shipping.  Need to give Horny Toad a try.

runamuck

I use Zanottis and Chicago HD and have used Surdyke a few times. just have to check several places for total to the porch before placing order..

Joker65

I stopped using Chicago last year about this time, when they went from 20% discount down to 10%.

I've used Zanotti before, but if you're not careful, you'll be charged HUGE s/h fees.

I almost always use Hale's HD out of Mansfield, Ohio now - if shopping online.
They're great to work with, will correct any issues they can, and don't charge an arm and a leg for shipping.

I live not far from Zanotties so there my local dealer and i asked how come their internet pricing on parts can beat my "discounted" price on HD parts ? the reply was because they make it up in shipping charges. and also i COULD NOT by online and "pick up" to save on shipping !!!  :wtf:
