Going to be replacing the 9 friction discs in my clutch. Should I also replace all 8 steel rings while I'm there?

Thanks

Depends on how they look. If they are blue,  they should be replaced. Check them for flatness against a piece of glass. If they are not absolutely flat the clutch will drag.

When checking prices for the steels, the part number (#37913-98) shows a price of ~$9.00.

Is that $9 for all 8 steels, or $9 each (qty. 8 x $9.00 = $72)?

Thanks

Cheaper to buy a complete set of disks.  The SE pack is a good improvement over stock, and not much more money.

You can buy a complete clutch pack (frictions and steels) from Energy One for $129. If you call in the order and mention this forum they will take 10% off that price. Some people believe the EO stuff to be way better than the OEM.
