Drag Specialties  is now selling these batteries  and if you close your eyes when checking the price they sound pretty neat especially in the weight department . I think a company called  Optima has been selling the auto batteries like these for quite a while , any one have any experience with these lithium batteries ?    http://www.ballisticparts.com/index.php

For $269 I won't be experiencing one anytime soon.,,

We got one of these to test in September.  We got busy and didn't try it until November when we took the stock HD battery out of our drag bike and put in the ballistic.  The Ballistic is incredibly light and small, so we thought it would be great for the racer.  It started the bike twice then it was smoked.  Our Drag Specialties rep was here when it happened, and he told us that he had heard of a couple of the early units having a problem.  Last I heard, they were supposed to be replacing it with a revised model.
It is a great idea, and if they work out the bugs and bring the price down a bit, they may be worth it.  Until then, we'll keep running the 'ol reliable HD/Deka.

in the same realm of reduced weight (previous thread in here a while back on these)

I like this brand (without trying one yet of course)

Some of these lithium batteries are $2000USD.

I just got a normal lead battery from them, 425 CCA!

Wow the Shorai is $315.00 but probably proven , checked Drag not in stock and they just sent out the parts skinny figures. I,m a dealer so there would be a price break but looks to good to be true at the moment ,looks like I'll use the expensive  hgc drops to lighten up the scoot this year  :emoGroan:

I think Brian Nallin is handling the batteries. He had them on display at the PRI Show in December.
We may try one on Kim's PXM racebike. They're very lite. My son seemed to be impressed with them, if they perform as advertised.

I put a Shorai in a XS650 bobber that I built last winter. It has plenty of cranking power and turns that 650 over like nothing. I think I paid $148 for it, when a local indie had regular ol wet batteries for it for the same price. I'm satisfied with the Shorai, plus its a cute little bugger!
I will seriously consider putting them in my HD's when the time comes.
