Oh Well, lost control again and put in component stereo in the 04 Road Glide.  Gave up on the J+M 5 1/4" that I had and after some research took the big dive and went to: Polk Audio DXI 6500's in the original speaker locations and put Polk Audio DXI 690's (6X9") in the inside of the fairing facing the forks. Powered all with a Rockford Fosgate PBR300X4 Punch series amp.
WOW is the ony way to desribe the sounds now. Didn't want to lose any saddlebag storage so it is all inside the fairing and though a little tight it all fit.
Here is a link to the whole install process if any are thinking about this it is worth the time. Parts were not all that expensive and with some internet searching you can put this together for a reasonable outlay of cash.
Check it out and let me know how it looks to you but you need to hear it to be sold:

Very nice install, wish I could hear it. Been toying with the idea of the
Boom audio from HD, but now you have me thinking differently.
Thanks for the detailed pics

Under $600 and two days work for the whole project, didn't take off the inner fairing to do it, so that made it a little interesting cutting 6X9 holes.
When I paint the inner fairing it will all pull together nicely I think

Nice job on the install.  I never have the patience to take all those pictures like you did.

It looks great and I'm sure it sounds even better.  You'll have to get a louder exhaust to hear it.  LOL
