Once you get hooked on FXRs, you really go all in!
Love the Shovel FXR. I think they are just a great looking, sounding, and performing machine. And pretty rare.
If the government gives you everything you want,
it can take everything you have.

If you are referring to my bikes, they are both have evo style engines. What may be throwing you off is the Axtell ductile barrels that use a base stud/ head bolt setup vs the oem style through studs that oem Evo and TC engines use.

Cheapness. Friends dont let friends use $50 ebay rods on 130hp engines. Wont do that again.

You're right, I just assumed those were shovel cylinders. A couple friends each had early FXRs with shovels. They ran great, they figured since they were first year models, that the factory took extra care in putting the motors together.
