Where were yours made?
My front was made in Thailand and the rear was made in Spain.
They ride smooth and quiet.

Good looking tread pattern , hope they ride/handle good as they look.

I hope these turn out to be a good tire. I'm going to put them on when the Metz's are gone on mine. Which won't be too long by the way. Around 8500 to 9000 out of a 200/17, not too bad I guess but 15000 sounds alot better.  :bike:

I put them on the last week of January.

Not sure about where they were made, didn't think to look.

I may get them on later this week so I'll check 'em out more closely.

My rear tire, Commander II 140/90 B16 was made in Thailand. Just got it Tuesday from Revzilla.

OK!  Tires mounted.  Rode about 25 miles.  Noticeable difference from the factory Dunlops.  Very smooth & seem to have more grip.  But I didn't get too rowdy.....wanna wear off the nubs first.

Rear is made in Spain....couldn't make out the front.  Will check tomorrow in better light conditions.

First impression......it's a WINNER!

Good results on a two up 75 mile trip yesterday, the handling through the turns feels much lighter.
These tires are silent.

Are they dual compound? How much were they and where did ya get em?
Whether you think you can or you think you can't, either way, you're right.

There were a couple of places online that I could have purchased front & rear for $250 delivered.

But I paid a bit more to give my indy the business.

Google "Michelin Commander II".....I think even amazon has them listed as I recall.

As far as the compound.....here's the Michelin description:

The Michelin Commander II tire combines a great brand with an excellent product that exceeds cruiser segment expectations. The Michelin Commander  II provides unmatched longevity as well as style and stability even in wet weather. Designed with a brand-new tread compound that is formulated without aromatic oils to improve grip and mileage. In additon, the computer-based tread design maximizes mileage and encourages even wear. Aramid tread plies resist centrifugal growth along with weight savings, providing perfect stability at high speeds
Aramid is stronger than steel and is used in aerospace and military applications
A highly dense polyester tire carcass increases belt-ply resistance and provides better overall rigidity to provide high-speed stability along with all-weather handling
A square bead wire package helps to ease installation and also increase casing rigidity for improved stability
Tread pattern maximizes water evacuation and grip on wet roads

Got mine on as well and I was thoroughly impressed. I have been running white walls but i made the sacrifice for longer tire life. The seem extra sticky, like i was picking up gravel the first 10 miles or so. Shocked! Ill be able to dig a little deeper in the synopsis after I get back from Daytona.

Keep us posted on those tires. My 2011 Dyna Street Bob came with Michelin Scorcher 31's and I sure like them. Michelin makes great tires.

ultrakoz

Thanks for the reply. I will keep an eye on this brand of tire. I have burned up plenty of stock Dunlops, Metzlers, and most recently, the Dunlop Elite III's. I liked the Elite III's the most of the three different ones. The new scoot will have those dual compound tires on em. I'm gonna keep an open mind about them until I ride em in all conditions.

From the site description quoted above, what I got out of it was that they're not dual compound.

Thanks for that glens. That may have been misleading. Let me clarify. I was referring to the stock tires on my new bike having the dual compound, not the Michelin Commander II's.

Okay.  I like the dual-compound treads.  You can get a little wheel spin in a corner just before and into the transition, then it gradually hooks up without fanfare.

I have a set of the Commander 2 tyres fitted to my 2005 FXDL. They replace the HD branded Dunlop 402. Commanders are excellent and bike rides great on them, not been in wet yet. Only disappointment the 150/80/16 rear is a much narrower tyre than the Dunlop. By a good 10-15mm. It looks skinny compared to the Dunlop but rides great. I suspect you could sneak a 160 rear on, anyone had a try yet?

Hey Oz, could you provide a measurement of the width of that 150? An overall diameter would be great to, if it's not too much trouble. I'm wondering if it will fit on the rear of a 2001 Fat Boy with zero modifications. I could compare your numbers with the tiny 130 I have on there currently. Thanks.
