Speaker comparison

Thinking of doing a speaker upgrade and possible stereo upgrade also on my 09 SG and not sure wether to go with the Hogtunes or the Titan II 6.5" speakers....any input would be greatly appreciated....Thanx

I've got a set of the Titan XL's in my 03 Glide.
Was offered a set of Hertz HE HC165's (6.5") to buy from a friend, spoke with Biketronics about it, they advised that those are the same as their Titan XL's.
The Titan II's are rated the same (200W Peak, 100W RMS) , but are advertised as a bit better and louder.
I LOVE my existing Titan XL's, but I don't believe you can go wrong with the Titan II's, as I was presented with a very good upgrade offer of the Titan II's by Biketronics, and am planning on going that route in the near future.

I went with a speaker adapter kit, and used marine grade Infinity speakers. IMO they sound better than any of the bike specific offerings out there. Also went with an ARC Audio amp.

I went with the Hog Tunes kit I bought used. It has 7" oval speakers for my RG and Ilike it a lot. I think they just came out with an upgraded kit. I have a new pair of JM speakers with tweeter covers for a RG if you can use tem $50 plus shipping

Arc Audio and the local HD dealers have a package with several versions  M.P.A.K. and it comes in version 1, 2, or 3
But I would change the speakers to the 6.5 using the Arc Audio speaker adaptor rings.
Using an amp even with your stock head unit will be the best improvement you can make for the money.

Lots of other ways to get good sounds though, all depends on the budget. Besides the ARC amp the Rockford Fosgate PBX300X4 works great in my 04 RG and can be had online for in the $160 range. Just search. I got mine from a seller on Amazon. I am using DXI marine grade speakers and they sound great and bought a 4 yr warranty with them.

I have the J&M 7.25" Rokkers with the Arc Audio amp in my SG.  I've blown the speakers and am looking at the Focal 6.5's.  Has anybody had any experience with these speakers.

A buddy added the oversize hog tunes speakers to his road glide and blew one out while showing me how good they sounded....they did sound pretty good up until that point...
