Did an 05 road king build for a friend.  It has Hillside stage 2 heads, V&H tru duals with kerker slip ons, SE heavy breather, and Andrews 48N cams.  The bike has absolutely no power.  When we took it in for the tune it put down 50hp on the preliminary pull.  Crankshaft had .004 runout, and CCP is 185.  We installed a brand new late model cam plate and oil pump. It also has an S&S crankshaft breather setup that the previous owner installed.  Any ideas what may be wrong?

any kind of tuner on the bike, without one you probably won't get much out of it.

Do yourself a favor, take out that S&S crankshaft breather, it'll do more harm than good.

Theres a power commander on it.  I thought sumping was primarily caused by excessive crankshaft runout?  Thinking back, this engine was exceptionally weak before the build too.

Sumping usually indicates a problem with the oil pump, the way it's assembled, the way it's aligned, or the condition ( or absence) of the O-rings.  I'm not questioning your ability to put a motor together, but if it was a pig before and is still a pig, it could mean the oil pump has never been together correctly or all the o-rings got put in during the initial build.  I understand you said you installed a new cam plate and oil pump, but that does not mean they are in there right, and it's real easy to go down the wrong path if the original pump was missing stuff or scored something..

Since you have the manuals, look at PAGE 1-37  Lubrication System - Oil does not return to the pan ( or does not return fast enough)
2,3,4 & 5 deal with oil lines or pump alignment.
6. says "O-RING DAMAGED OR MISSING FROM PUMP/CRANKCASE JUNCTION ( ALSO RESULTS IN POOR ENGINE PERFORMANCE)

Ok.  Ill pull it down and double check the assembly of the oil pump and the presence of all o rings.
