HELP! Deautch Plug 6-Pin DT04-6P Femal Receptacle

Need to replace the female Deautch receptacle (Female) on the wireing harness for my 2000 FXR. I've found these plugs all over the net but I'm wondering what size is the wire that runs through the harness to the plug. This is the Handlebar switch housing wires I'm asking of. I ask because there seems to be different size wire for different connectors such as 18 gu, 20 gauge..etc. Any help much appreciated!

I'd say 16ga is what your looking at.

FYI, you can buy those connectors at the dealer as well.
