with the led trouble shooting etc. Kinda of like a thunderheart system but much cheaper. Would these be a good way to go on wiring a scratch built bike? Since I am going  to wire this as a 96 and newer with electronic speedometer and turn signals etc, I thought this might be a pretty easy way to go... anyone ever use one? Not like wiring a Pan! I am not a great electrical guy...

Can't really answer your ques but it wouldn't surprise me if the Ultima is just a relabled Thunderheart.  I know the Ultima I have isn't like a Dyna 2000i - it IS a Dyna 2000i but half price.

As far as if its right for you I'm the wrong guy to be giving advice.

Are you referring to these Ultima wiring module/kits-

If so, I can't help you either but am kinda curious myself.

It's actually easy as a Pan (wiring).

The Stator plugs into the Regulator,  there's one wire leaving the Regulator going to the Battery.

The Ultima system comes with the wire going to the coil, all you need to do is Connect the White Wire to your Ignition Switch.  Lights and Speedo and you're done.

You might think I'm joking but I'm running a Sigma  BC 509 on my Bobber for a speedometer.  It's a friggin Bicycle Speedo.  It's small, accurate, has a trip reset and large LCD display and it costs $17.00.   I've had it up to 80 mph and works like a Champ.  (I've heard over a 100 mph and still works.)

You're wiring is really not that difficult with an electronic ignition system and carb.

Crossed to a carb from EFI and the Ultima kit is a very slick item for the conversion, module is a good item but only got about 3 months out of the coil and would run on 1 cylinder under 1000 rpm's, bought accell coil and have 2 seasons in it.
What's wrong with having the only Evo in the parking lot?

I've had one on my Shovel for 2 years. Because of lack of space between the early tanks, I had to make a bracket and mount it in front of my gas tanks tucked in tight under the neck.  I pulled the wires back and made connections between the tanks.  It works for me.
