Not a big fan of factory performance packages but this package looks decent, particularly if purchased from a discount dealer.  Unfortunately, to retain warranty, the customer can't turn the wrenches and aftermarket cams are out of the question. Does anyone have any experience with the 259e cams, or comments in general about the package?

"Other than that, how'd you like the theater Mrs. Lincoln?"

That $1850 is parts only. 103/110 for that much in parts? Is that all? I can get you better than that with earlier torque and less money in parts.

theres alot of cool cats here that can come up with better results with less than that, and i wouldnt use a 259e with that setup
i want a flatknuckpanshovevotwinster glider

Did you guys bother to read the description?  :scratch:It's more than just the parts to get 103" and I am not a "cool cat" but I can do better with aftermarket stuff too.  That's not the point of the post.  A lot of guys have to rely in the dealer for perfromance upgrades, particularly if warranty is an issue.  The point of the post was that this kit , 92500011 and 92500010 appear to be fairly decent kits.  The 92500011 kit includes Screamin' Eagle CNC Ported Factory Cylinder heads, 58mm ETC throttle body, SE-259E cams, 10.5:1 compression pistons, Perfect-Fit pushrods, SE clutch spring, and all required engine gaskets and can be purchased from a discount dealer for $1650; still say not to shabby for a guy looking for a dealer upgrade.  PN92500011 includes all the same components plus cylinders, larger injectors, intake manifold and SEST and can be purchased from a discount dealer for $1990 and is a better deal.

My post wasn't asking who could do more for less money.  I was just asking if anyone had experience with the cams or the kit. It appears to be a good way to go for guys that need, for whatever reason, to go the dealer upgrade route.

since you have warranty issues , maybe you should refrase youre ? as to which se cam would work best in this set up for it .  im on warranty also , so im not going to do any upgrades until its off warranty . either way i hope your choice works out for you.,

Ok. Then to more directly reply to your post....
1. There are better power makers for less money
2. Just because its a harley kit does NOT mean it retains factory warranty. The only warranty you will have left is anything OTHER than the motor and thats if you end up at a dealer that is willing to look the other way on performance upgrades.
3. The perfect fit pushrods are not perfect.
4. The se58 mm throttl body is junk and that is well documented.
5. The factory cylinders are not bored to match the pistons your better off boring a seasoned liner.
Since engine warranty will be non existent after this upgrade you might as well go with something cheaper that performs better. But thats just me and i am only an oil changer.

OK, I give up. :banghead:  Those that have posted have assumed that I am interested in this kit and that I have no knowledge of aftemarket alternatives.  I am not seeing the connection between my knowldege/experience or lack thereof and the question posed in the OP.:scratch:I was asking the question on behalf of others that want performance upgrades but must deal with warranty issues.  The question is not for me; I don't have warranty issues and I pointed out in my OP that I am not a fan of dealer/MoCo performance packages. I have two bikes that are long past the warranty period and I ignored the warranty on my '05 FXSTD that I upgraded to 95" (104TQ/94HP) six months into the warranty period. The second bike, '02 FLHT was bought used but had a transferrable extended warranty which I voided two months after the warranty was transferred but upgrading to 107".  Both built by yours truly, so, while not as experienced as many on this forum, I have some knowldege of what is available from the MoCo and the aftermarket. I completely agree with all the points aharp makes in his last post but pointing out what I already know doesn't provide much insight into the question posed in the OP.  I have family and friends that inquire about the H-D performance kits, the potential for performance and impact on warranty issues.  I have two modified Harleys, do all my own work so they assume I know all this "Potty mouth" and I don't.  So, I am just trying to collect first hand information from any forum members that may have experience with these two packages.  Apparently there aren't any.

It is clear in the description of the PN92500011 is covered under warranty if installed by a dealer; so there is a stated warranty with that kit.   Three dealers in my area and I know that two of them have torque plates and check piston to cylinder clearance on Harley kits and if out of spec; they send them back.  The piston to cylinder fitment issue with MoCo BB kits is something I point out to anyone I know that inquires about any MoCo BB kit so they know they have an alternative.

Dealer builds with MoCo kits are not the best choice for optimum performance or the biggest bang for the buck. However, those kits are the only choice for some that want to upgrade performance while retaining warranty; a point that may have been missed. :missed:

Yeah, I understood there to be a warranty with the kits, too.  A friend went with one of them last winter on his '08 and he's really happy with it.  I don't like how there's nothing much to speak of until about 2700, but I'm glad he's glad because he just about gave me his take-out 255s, with which I'm happy.

Not any more; it's 80*, going for a ride.

I would have to agree with DJL, I will never use a MoCo HyPer Kit again. I use one in my Sportster and I think that it sucks. :emoGroan:
