Any of you Kansas City guys have anything good or bad to say about Worth Harley?

Last time I stepped foot in there (about five years ago) I had the intention of buying a Fat Boy that day.  Had done the research, knew what the prices were, knew what I wanted.  Talked to the guy, he quoted me a price that was $2K over sticker and when I mentioned it he shrugged and told me "Hey, it's a supply and demand issue, but I'll give you $500 in Harley accessories." I looked behind me, saw nobody, told that idiot "Yea, they're lined up behind me, aren't they?" and walked out.  Went to KC Creations and talked to them instead.

For all my stuff I make the drive from North Kansas City to Central HD (Shawnee, KS) even though Worth is only about 5 miles away.
If guns kill people, do pencils misspell words?

If you were gonna buy soon, make it real soon (before they raise their prices).  Worth is about the highest prices I have seen in the midwest.....gotta pay for those burgers/bands on Saturdays somehow....(former SE Ks. resident before escaping to NW Arkansas)..... :potstir:

I'm not from K.C. but have been in their store.  As mentioned they are (or at least they were) very high priced.   :pop:

I liked the kinda museum atmosphere in the Topeka dealership, and when you told the girl in the bootique you were from ouut of town she would give ya all kinds of freebies with your t-shirt purchase. I got a keychain, an inkpen, one of those litte metal emblems that stick on top of your oil dipstick, and her phone number.

I haven't heard they sold out when did they do that?
If it was Rick Worth from up north I wouldn't buy anything from them.
I'm sure Gail didn't buy it and she doesn't associate with the family much as far as business is concerned.

Me and three buds rolled through there last Labor Day weekend and one bud on an 07SE ultra was having some bearing issues in his primary, they owned several stores then and the one he went to diagnosed the prob but didn't have the part. He said let me call on of the other stores and see if they got it, they had it but were closed and the dude with the key lived a couple miles away and would not open up for us to get the part. We were on the last leg of a 4000 mile trip in 10 days trying to get home, we explained that but nobody seemed to give a "Potty mouth". My last time screwing with Worth. I have been on a bunch of trips and in a bunch of HD dealers and that one is the worst case I have had on the road.

Thanks for the experiences.  I was told Rick from Worth bought the two dealerships Saturday 1/24/09 from Mike Patterson.  The Patterson family has owned THD since after WW2 and Riverfront in Lawrence has only been open a few years.  If Harley Davidson doesn't go out of business with their liquidity crisis I had planned on buying or ordering a new Softy Deluxe in the next few weeks.  I had planned on getting a quote from Central, Gail's, and maybe Junction City and take the best offer to THD and see if they'd match it.  The Patterson's took good care of me, but I don't owe anything to the new owner.  This kind of threw me a curve ball.  It is interesting everybody agrees Worth is expensive.  I've been there once years ago and bought a H-D leather jacket for 20% off.

I sure hate to see that happen to a old dealer.I had bought two new bikes from Topeka.I have had really good experience with the people there since Mike took over.I proable wont even bother going if this happens.
