I just put one in my 10 Street Glide about 300 miles ago and it works great as does all the other tensioners Hayden puts out.
$100.00 introductory sale. Took about an hour to install.

It keeps constant spring pressure and no chance of ratcheting up an making the chain to tight or not ratcheting and making the chain to loose. I have been using them for years and they just came out with one for 07 and up.

Well it relies on the spring tension to keep the chain taught. The shoe is fully floating and just sits there bouncing up and down under spring pressure as the tight and slack bits of the chain pass over it. It is important that you get the pre-load correct. You accomplish this with Shims which you install under the tensioner unit. Always make sure you rotate the chain so that you pre-load it at the slackest part of the chain. I actually fitted a new chain at the same time i installed the M6. Made things easier to set up. I used a Tsubaki chain, they stretch once and then stay as they are. I haven`t had to touch mine in 20,000 miles.

The only problem i had with the M6 was the noise it made just from installation. It sounded like a Stuka dive bomber for about 200 miles, i was worried i`d over shimmed it. The noise faded as the chain wore its running grooves into the units floating shoe i guess?

I once tried the HB 125 Hydraulic tensioner, it worked ok for a while then, it broke and i had the chain slapping round inside tearing the crap out of the inner cases. I found some unidentifiable crap had gotten in the oil pressure holes and seized the unit up. Nah, stick with the M6, nothing to go wrong!!
Peace...those brief moments in history when everyone stands around reloading....

Flat scary.. I thought they had shims to keep the spring travel to a minimum..

I thought HD had this stock on the '07's on up, why switch, they can't be that different oir better are they?

sandrooney

The stock one can possibly ratchet up and run the chain to tight or not ratchet and run it to loose.

Do you know if they updated the springs?  Last conversation I had with them when mine broke is that 'they were working on it'.

Mine does. Put in back in 2006. I thought the OP ment there is new features or new design. Looks like not.

Maybe they left the shims out to make the movement more visable for the demo?

There has to be some down travel as the chain tightens from heat. Vid is likely a cold chain which will have and need a bit extra shoe travel.

I've got 96k on my HB125. I don't even check it anymore.  Kinda like the hydralic action instead of spring.
