2010 RG....it has never let me set cruise unless I am at least in 3rd gear.  Doesnt matter what speed or RPM, in 1st or 2nd it will not set, no matter what I do.

I never found a reference to 3rd gear or higher in the manual, and have lived with it, but now its something I want to fix if I can.

Where to look?

Thank you in advance (TIA)

Yes, only 3rd gear or higher.  Been dealing with that since '08.

I'd like to find a thumb screw like the older bikes, but can't find one long enough to get past the cruise module on the handlebar.  There's always a thumb lock, but haven't seen and that will work on TBW.

3rd gear or higher makes sense to me since the cruise control is only supposed to work at speeds from 35 to 85 mph anyway. At least on an 07.

Grumpy,

I've got the stock HD cruise on my 02 RG. I also have the unit below installed on it. Works like a champ. Not cheap but it does serve a purpose. When ordering, you need to tell the guy that's it's for a bike with stock cruise. I use the cruise-mate all the time if I'm with a couple of guys and not in front.

I thought it was only over 30 MPH. I guess I have never tried 1st or 2nd becuse I am not going above 30 MPH in most cases.
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!
