What is the diff?
I want to get an E for my Shovelhead, but can't seem to find one reasonably priced.
I did see a G, but what is the diff and is it ok for a 74"Shovel?
I'm not a proctologist, but I know an asshole when I see one...

could be wrong but I thought the G was a bigger carb?  :nix:

Shuvlinoff is correct:

Super E- 1 7/8" bore for shovel

Super G- 2 1/16" bore for shovel

Might want to keep an eye out for a E, that G may be hard to tune down for a 74" motor. However, I ain't no expert. Hopefully somebody else can weigh in and help ya out.

I think Ultima is now making a cheap exact copy of the E.
The E (per the SnS website) is the right carb for any Harley under 100 cubic inches.
The G is too big to create enough fuel mixing (turbulence) under 3K rpm.
It would only be okay for WOT runs down the strip.

Don't put a "G" on your Shovel, you''ll regret it, wait for an "E" or buy one new.  The "G" is for big big motors..

Wow prices have climbed an ebay. A complete new E assembly with backing plate and cover are salty these days.

Honestly for a 74 inch mill I'd look into a used CV40. I have one on my 93"er and yeah it runs outta poop when I am reaching for 100 but I don't ride very often at 100. Starts great, street manners are great.

I saw one on ebay with an accelerator pump for $115. Of course you'd need a backing plate, filter, a proper throttle cable and drive, but an old round cover will fit it.

edit to add: there are some of those direct S&S E replacement Ultimas on the bay too. I saw one for $289 buy it now option. They are made in China and you would still need all the goodies to mount it.
