Will be coming to Cody from Colter Lake near Jackson Hole and want to stop overnight in Cody and ride Chief Joseph and Beartooth pass the next day. Loop ride up to Red Lodge and back to Cody, should be a nice one day ride I think.
Maybe someone can recommend an RV campground in Cody and the best way to get there from Jackson Hole.
Have to use the toyhauler due to the wife's medical condition keeps her from riding long distances, before any comments about riding not trailering.
On the way to Sturgis of course but can't miss the chance to do those two roads.
Of course will be stopping to say hey to Ray at his shop.
Anyone stayed at the "Ponderosa Campgrounds" in Cody?  One night only so it doesn't have to be fancy.

I camped at Buffalo Bill State Park one night just outside Cody.  Right at the Buffalo Bill Reservoir.  If you are coming in from Yellowstone then it's just before Cody.

Yep, the KOA is on the road heading south east outa Cody. Nice place, but right on the highway so you may hear some traffic noise. The one by the reservoir would be my choice if it fits the travel plans.
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

The Ponderosa is in town and has full hook-ups and showers.   It's a good place to stay if you want to ride/walk Cody and have a few drinks.   Buffalo Bill S.P. is west by about twelve miles and is a nice state park.   The KOA is about three miles east on the same road (Hwy 14/16/20) and has a pool, hook-ups , horseback riding and  showers.    If you're good at backing up, you can use our back lot for free right in Cody.   I'll give you a cold water hose and a 120V outlet...   Ray

I usually stay just to the west of Ray's new shop. Gas next door and little store with beer always give me a free shot of ice in my cooler when I buy beer. If you have deep pockets there is a good restaurant just across the street. They have some cabins that are basic. I tent it but there are plenty of RV spots. Used to be a cheep place to stay but prices have gone up. Ray can give you the name.

That campground has been bulldozed and a Hampton Inn is going up.   Ray

Ponderosa is a great campground and located in Cody.  I have also stayed at other sites, ie. KOA and Buffalo Bill and would rather stay at Ponderosa.

The Ponderosa is one that looked good when I checked it out online.  I am passing through on the way to Sturgis, so just a short stop over to ride the Beartooth.
Very generous of Ray to offer a place to put the hauler. Thanks Ray, I will give you a heads up as the time gets closer. That may work out perfectly.
Just need to leave the truck and trailer somewhere for the day. Walmart offers free overnight stop overs, but generally I worry about leaving everything alone all day in their lot.
Thanks for all the replies and advice so far.
